Construction activity for the week included;
• Bulk earthworks at Powerlink substation bench key activity this week
• Crushing plant established to allow use of excavated rock as roadbase or compacted fill
• Water stand (extraction point) in use allowing for increased dust suppression
• Site Entry Road (from base of hill to top) earthworks continues
• Continuation of earthworks for turbine access roads; approximately 25% of clearance works complete
• Hardstand and foundation excavation
• Field survey work continues for UXO, Cultural Heritage and Environmental aspects prior to vegetation clearance in new areas
• DoD attended site on 23/05/17 to detonate two UXO found last week. Finds were successfully disposed of and site verified as safe.
